WHAT IS THE NWA?

What is the National Women's Alliance?

The National Women's Alliance was organized in December 1997 and became incorporated as a nonprofit organization on July 30, 1998. It is the only national organization in the country that specifically focuses on the needs and concerns of women and girls of color. The organization is founded on the premise that social action and change does not occur in a vacuum, but rather they are multi-layered and are informed by individual circumstances and experiences.

We are a training, technical assistance, advocacy, and membership organization that focuses primarily on women and girls of colors' civil and legal rights, health, education and training. Additionally, we provide technical assistance and training to local and national organizations and institutions that provide services to women and girls of color.
