CENTER FOR SOCIAL POLICY

The Center for Social Policy

The Center for Social Policy of the National Women's Alliance is a resource and research center dedicated to producing timely and relevant information and research exploring the impact of race, class, gender, sexuality, and ethnicity on social policy, the criminal justice system, and the quality of life of women and girls of color.

We understand that there is very little empirical information and research on the issues impacting women and girls of color. We are working to change this at the local, state, and national levels by investigating issues of concern to community leaders and activists; policy and decision makers; and community-based and grassroots organizations. It is our hope that information generated from our projects and studies can be used in communities and on the national level to advocate on the behalf of women and girls of color.

As an organization, we are committed to community-based and participatory research models. All of our research projects have advisory boards representing the communities and issues being studied. Further, we make all of our finding available to public and are committed to generating reports that are accessible with regard to language and readability.
